4th Weekly Feature - Kelly Axtell: An Artist Who Gives Back

Few people can find time for themselves these days and even fewer have time to give back to others. In this busy time with so many distractions it has become rare to hear of someone who volunteers or donates to a worthy cause. Kelly Axtell is an amazing mother and artist who creates for a charitable cause. Her Etsy shop donates a percentage of all sales to the Hydrocephalus Association to help those suffering from this chronic condition. Kelly takes the time to hand make each unique piece of jewelery so that her customers get the best of what she has to offer.

When asked what inspired her to create here is what she had to say:

     "I joined Etsy in early 2012 as I have always loved handmade items. I started to create jewelry and other items to specifically give back to a cause that is dear to my heart, the Hydrocephalus Association. I truly enjoy creating each piece and am excited to share my work with others. The Hydrocephalus Association helps create awareness and research for this chronic condition that affects so many people. I appreciate you taking a look at my shop and I hope people come to visit my shop and page often!"

Hydrocephalus, also known as water on the brain, causes pressure to build up in the affected person's head and can lead to brain damage. As a mother of a child with Hydrocephalus Kelly is very close to this cause.
